I once weighed 327 lbs. I decided to quit being unhappy and unhealthy and get a grip on life. I'm now in the 220-230's, still trying to figure it out and better myself. I run, lift, and crossfit, with everything else in-between. This blog is randomness, with possible incoherent attempts at humor... just keep scrolling. It'll be fine.

Beard is officially longer than hair.
Went to my first nude beach today… Moshy went full monty and had a blast.
Mosh was also excited of the prospect of “meeting some new(d) people”… ya know, the way dogs do. We thought we’d check it out cause… butts, ya know? Apparently it’s a thing. @serial-cereal-eater knows what I’m talking about. Just ask her. Or Beachy. Or Brenny. Or Anna. Really… it’s a thing.
There was definitely a butt. An old leathery man’s. Bent over. Picking up sticks. Eurotrip nightmare engaged.
I think I’ve had my fill of the “Clothing Optional” Beaches.
Toronto Isalnd was pretty cool, tho. Will definitely do that again.
Target goal of 4% was 220.1 lbs.
Nailed it, dietbet’rs.
Pay up.
Seriously. I love John Krasinski, haha! This was/is amazing.
Mile PR: 8:40. Burpees in the dirt.
I felt like I was dragging for the first half mile, so I pushed it for the next half and surprised myself with this. PR by over 20 seconds… not sure of exact numbers.
Ran the long route this morning, hoping I could convince myself to run more than just a couple miles - which was more than I was wanting to do in the first place. Came back up on some empty pullup bars on the lake shore about 2.75 miles into the run and decided on a quick pullup/burpee ladder wod (10 -> 1). Another runner came up and started doing some pullups and pushups. After a few minutes he apologized for dressing the the same (black on black) and we chatted for a bit while both straining thru our sets. I finished up with 50 dips then, headed home for another 1.5 miles of hills. Huhhh. My arms were killing me on the run home. I felt like The Barbarian trying to run after that… my arms felt tight and swoll and I know I looked like a stiff goof running.
4.25 miles. PR. 55 pullups. 55 burpees. 50 dips. Hills. I’ll take it.
Deck of cards home WoD: core & arms.
Hearts: pushups
Diamonds: mt climbers (2 count)
Spades: flutter kicks (2 ct)
Clubs: butterfly situps
Jokers: 50 dips
85 reps of each. Pretty good burn.
Even tho I didn’t get as much cardio* in yesterday as I thought I would, I still had a good bit and opted for some other work today.
*[ I was supposed to meet beachy at 32k of her marathon to run the last 10k in with her… but between navigating the cray that was Toronto traffic my first time solo, actually making it to right spectating spots on time, finding parking and doing all this without mowing down any pedestrians was actually pretty fun - and a bit nerve racking. It took me over an hour to make it from 22k area to the finish and by the time I got to where I thought I needed to be, I had already missed her heading towards the 30k mark. Also, I may have gotten a little confused on the course route. I saw where guys were redirecting some runners at a turn around (later found out that was the 5k peoples - marathoners kept going) and found myself between the 29k and 40k loop signs trying to figure out where the missing k were. I had to break down and text her to find where she was.
“38k.”
Oops. I took off sprinting and realized where I had messed up, finally catching up to her with her hands in the air, a certain look on her face and the words “what the actual eff*, Kendrick?!” She smiled and I was relieved to find her still in strong, good spirits. She finished like a boss, obvi. ]
Also - I got to see @kevsfatfight running the 5k and got to meet him after as he hung around to congratulate beachy - super cool dude and also helping arrange a 5k coming up in the GTA in August if you’re in the area!
Beachy is looking good! Thru 18-20 ks… waiting gor her at 23. Will update when I can.
Too nice out to not run… especially down & along the beaches.
-1 mile to beach: 9 mins. Easy. Literally down hill.
-1 mile speed intervals (run/walk) along the board walk. No problem. Tougher, but easy to take mind off of it with the view.
-1 mile back to the house. Not easy. Definite problem. Literally up hill.
Totaled at 33 minutes for 3 miles. I’ll take it. 92 pushups from 100 pushups app? I’ll take that as well.
I had plans to run where I had saw some pullup bars along the boardwalk on my last run with intentions of doing some make-shift bodyweight WoD - even ran with my backpack carrying some gear. But, that was thwarted due to some weirdo filming himself standing on the bars doing some kind of ridic one-leg balance crap while he waved his hands around in the air like he was David Blaine about to pull a card from his….
Typically, I’m not one to judge people for anything… to each his own, usually. But, I watched for a couple mins, taking a water break and trying to find a justified reason not feel judgy on the guy… until I realized he’d just sit on the bar until he saw girls coming then he’d hop back up and start his crap again. Sorry dude… you got judged. Tools belong in the garage, not standing on top of pullup bars I could’ve used for something productive.
Lumineers concert tonight. Admittedly, we’ve both had the swoons. Dem tunes.
It’s true. I swooned.
